It’s me Yavuz Samur, PhD. I graduated from Instructional Design and Technology, Department of
Learning Sciences and Technologies (Curriculum and Instruction) at Virginia Tech. Right now, I am
working as an Assistant Professor at Bahcesehir University, Faculty of Educational Sciences,
Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology. I have been teaching
“Instructional Design”, “Distance Education”, “Multimedia Design and Production in Education”,
“Information and Communication Technologies in Education”, and of course, “Game-based Learning”
courses as undergraduate and master level courses. I love teaching and being “on the stage” in
front of my students. My doctoral dissertation was about creating a survey on measuring students’
engagement and designing a research study by using serious/educational games and virtual
manipulatives focusing on their three main attributes (goal, challenge, and feedback), scoping
down to mathematics, specifically to fractions. If you are interested, feel free to take a look at my
dissertation. So, right, I like games I do not only play games, I also design digital games, that
is my other job. In addition, I design online courses to enhance teaching by using hybrid learning as
my other job working at distance education unit of my university. You will be able to find much more
information about me, my research, papers, presentations, work, interests through this website.
You can also see my blog where I share interesting, informative, and important posts. Please take a
look and feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy it!
